I so love working with Leiah Cooper!
Starting out, I figured I’d go it alone. Who needs an editor when you have a college education? Me, that’s who. Most of my negative fan feedback was about my lack of editing. Luckily, Leiah found me and the rest is history. She’s such an easygoing individual. She experimented with different styles until we found the perfect fit for me, which I love. Most other editing agencies do things their way period. Not Leiah. She finds what suits the author best and works from there. She’s also extremely flexible. If I tell her I’ve got a deadline and need an edit ASAP, she makes it happen. Book reviews are also something she provides and they are phenomenal. Honestly, I’m almost reluctant to write this review. Like a child with a toy, I’m not keen on sharing. J Thanks Leiah for all you do, you’re the best!
About Susan
My pack territory is in North Central Montana. Born and raised in an untamed location that bridges the gap between rolling prairie and majestic mountain peaks, I am born to a family that also bridges the gap between cultures. My father’s people boast a fiercely proud Scottish ancestry while my mother’s tribes descend from two savagely beautiful and unique nations that inspire my Skin Walkers series.
I’m a huge fan of MMA, boxing, hockey, 30 Seconds to Mars, Linkin Park, DMX, the Killers, and 21 Pilots (“sometimes quiet is violent…”). I also love to read because it encourages me to write. ( I always hate it when authors add that they love coffee and chocolate. Really? Who doesn’t love coffee and chocolate?) Anyway, I love beer…kidding. I don’t love beer, but we are engaged in a very serious relationship. (Mom, please don’t call me when you read this.)

I was so very honored to get the following note from internationally known author, Robert Ellis.
I was surfing the web when I found your review of my book CITY OF ECHOES. I just wanted to say thanks for totally getting this book! You knew exactly where I was coming from! Many, many thanks for taking so much time and caring so much to offer your take on what has become my favorite work!
All best,
Robert Ellis
MICHAEL ANGEL
The incredible Michael Angel was nice enough to send me the following recommendation, and I am thrilled beyond words!
Thank you, Michael!
There’s an old story about a medieval architect who was asked to demonstrate his skill: in answer, he drew a circle so perfect that it seemed as though it was drawn using a compass. He was hired on the spot to design the town’s cathedral.
In a sense, that’s how I came to work with Leiah Cooper.
While reviewing one of my novels, she unearthed a half-dozen errors in a manuscript that had been through multiple levels of review. An entire team of editors on a publisher’s payroll and a group of beta-readers missed what she found.
When you hire Leiah Cooper, you don’t just hire an editor. You hire an expert.
Manuscript flaws, particularly in the sample that gives many readers a first taste of your work, are devastating to your sales. Hiring Leiah is an investment that will pay off for you many times over, and as an added bonus, she’s wonderful to work with as well.

KATHY REGNERY
“I have had the pleasure of working with Leiah Cooper as a reviewer for almost all of my books and I can say without reservation that her reviews are inspired – one might begin with a quote from Marilyn Monroe, while another makes a heartfelt plea on behalf of our returning veterans. These are not your run-of-the-mill rehash-the-plot reviews. Leiah is creative, thoughtful and thorough in her treatment of every book: respectful of the author, yet truthful to her audience. She has become one of my go-to reviewers every time I have a new release and further, I am grateful for her kindness and encouragement.”

Hey Leiah – I just wanted to write and tell you how staggered and grateful I am for your sensitive, comprehensive reviews of the Huntress books. Of course you always HOPE that readers will read the books that way, but to read your reactions, complete with such stunning imagery – well, I’ve been struggling with Book 4, and this is definitely the fuel I needed to keep going.

Leiah is helping me translate my French fiction thriller books into English. I couldn’t afford the cost of a professional translator, so Leiah suggested I use a translation software to get a first draft of the English version of my book. The outcome is far from being acceptable, but since I’m able to write in English, to a certain extent, I can edit that first draft myself to make it passable. It takes a lot less time than re-writing the whole text in the second language.
From that resulting English version, Leiah takes over and puts it into appropriate English at a very reasonable/affordable cost! Our association is a God-sent opportunity that will permit me to offer my fiction writing to avast group of new readers all over the world!
I highly recommend Leiah to any French writer who has a basic skill writing in English but lack the ability to render their text in proper English. They will not regret doing business with this very friendly and accommodating lady.”

Mark Henwick – Author – “The Bite Back Series”
For a supposedly lonely profession, you sure need a lot of people to help with your writing. I’ve heard Hugh Howey does it all by himself, and if so, hats off to him.
For the rest of us, there are enough obstacles in the way of becoming an indie author without adding to them.
I won’t disguise the fact that you need luck to succeed, but I will say that even with luck, a poorly planned, self-edited and wrongly-detailed novel is likely hampered from the start. And getting a good start is more than half the marketing plan.
There’s no magic wand, and no novel is ever perfect, but Leiah can help you with this. Every flaw, from a weak scene to a misplaced apostrophe, has the potential to take a reader out of the story and knock stars off your rating, or even lose you a rating and a fan.
At the simplest level, Leiah can act as a sounding board. She reads and reviews widely, so she’s developed a good feel for what works and what doesn’t. She’ll point out character flaws, plot inconsistencies and, if you’re writing about crime in America, she’ll advise you on processes and procedures based on a career in criminal forensics. That’s all before she corrects your punctuation, spelling and grammar. 🙂 This sort of skill set is invaluable for an Indie writer to tap into.
My team of beta readers and editors, including have helped me to get the Bite Back series to where it is. I strongly urge you to put a similar team in place before you even get half way.
P.S. – I heartily recommend Leiah as a resource for police procedural / forensic analysis research, and I hereby publicly apologise for killing Melissa, who was a favourite character of Leiah’s 😦
Highly recommended.

Finding Leiah by accident on the internet was a godsend. We communicated via email and quickly established a rapport. I felt very confident in enlisting her services. And I was proven right.
Not only is Leiah professional yet friendly, she is also quick and thorough. She also posts reviews! What more can a writer ask for in an editor?
Moreover, as a former police officer and forensic scientist, she has a wealth of knowledge that is invaluable. Leiah has steered me away from a couple of potentially damning errors. I shudder to think what would happen had she not pointed them out to me.
Thanks, Leiah. I really appreciate your work and your encouraging words. I would not hesitate to recommend your services.
Greetings from Amazon.com Customer Discussions,
Because you requested to be notified when people commented on your review(s), we are sending you this e-mail.
Leiah: I very much enjoyed your review of the first book in this series, and, in fact, bought and enjoyed it solely on your recommendation.
I’ll buy this one as well, again based on your review.
Many thanks!
And thank YOU Janis!
